About the Artist
Joan Lesikin
Born and raised in Rockland County, New York, Joan now resides in Hendersonville, Henderson County, North Carolina, in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. She received art training at Rutgers University (MFA), at Syracuse University’s School of Art (BFA), and at the Art Students League, Woodstock.
Joan is recipient of several awards including Juror’s Choice (2025) and Curator’s Choice (2024) awards (Art Ability, Bryn Mawr, PA); North Carolina Artist Support Grant (2023); 2nd Place (2024) and Honorable Mention (2022) Grace Gallery, Mills River, NC; several one-person shows; a Woodstock Artists Association Grant, and NYS Arts Alive Grant. Her work is in numerous collections, including the former Museum of Modern Art Loan Collection, French & Co. Gallery in NYC, and GalerÃa Juana Mordó in Madrid, Spain.
